MOTS-C 10vials

75.00

MOTS-C (Mitochondrial ORF of the Twelve S rRNA type-C) is a 16-amino-acid peptide encoded within the mitochondrial 12S rRNA gene. Identified in 2015, it functions as a mitochondrial-derived peptide (MDP) involved in regulating metabolic homeostasis. In preclinical and early human studies, MOTS-C enhances insulin sensitivity, promotes lipid and glucose metabolism, and increases exercise capacity. It is supplied as a high-purity lyophilized powder for use in laboratory research.

          Mechanism of action

          AMPK Activation

MOTS-C increases levels of AICAR and stimulates AMPK, leading to enhanced glucose uptake and fatty-acid oxidation.

          Insulin Sensitivity

Improves glucose tolerance and insulin action in diet-induced obese mice; correlates with insulin signaling enhancement in skeletal muscle.

          Exercise Mimetic Role

Circulating MOTS-C rises in humans during acute exercise; in mice, administration increases exercise performance and stress adaptation.

          Cytoprotection

Acts as a “mitokine,” transmitting mitochondrial stress signals and promoting cellular resilience.
